Brand new holiday chalet (2010) located near the dunes and 300 meters from the beach in Ijmuiden. The Duindoorn campsite is a child friendly site and during the high season there is a team of qualified childcare personnel available to entertain the children on the campsite.
The nature, the beach and the beautiful views make this unique place to enjoy a holiday. On a clear day you have a stunning view of Bloemendaal and Zandvoort. From IJmuiden harbor there is a regular taxi boat service to the North Beach Pier which has fantastic beach cafes. This is a unique beach as it has great surfing conditions.
You can enjoy the rest of the beautiful surroundings by bike or a leisurely stroll through the dunes. Also close by is the woodland area of Beeckerstein and a few minutes further down the way is Spaarnwoude recreation area which also has an all year round indoor ski resort.
A little further inland the district has a lot more to offer than you might at first expect, such as the traditional fishing village of Oud-Velsen, an extensive shopping area, a visit to the sea locks of the North Sea Channel (one of the largest in the world) and Fort IJmuiden. At a stone's throw away is Spaarnwoude recreational area where you can ski all year round, the woodland area of Beeckerstein and the town of Beverwijk with its weekend market – Zwartmaarkt (Black Market). You can get everything at these markets from fresh meat, vegetables and exotic fruits to clothing, shoes make up and furniture as well as computer peripherals. You can also take the Fast Flying Ferry and be in the heart of Amsterdam within 25 minutes (you can also take your bike for free). This is an ideal location for a vacation as there is an abundance of activities and good public transport links which ensures you and your family have an enjoyable stay. IJmuiden is also close to Schiphol airport, journey time circa 20 minutes by car.
